Transportation Photographs
Historic photographs are wonderful documents. They show how the land looked in the past, how people dressed, worked, and played, and they help us give a face to history. Students will have the opportunity to look at and discuss historic methods of transportation.
Photographs
- Examine photographs as a class. Then have students answer the following questions or create your own.
Questions for Students:
- What type of transportation does this photograph show? Why do you think the photographer chose to take a photograph of it?
- Are there any people in this photograph? Who do you think they are? Do they know they are being photographed? How can you tell?
- What do you think the weather was like that day? How can you tell?
- Choose one person in the photograph you would like to speak with. Who would it be? What would you ask him/her?
- Imagine that you are in the photograph. What are you doing? How do you feel?
- Have you ever used this type of transportation? Would you like to? Why or why not?
